A Sample Accommodation



Our home is a 1923 craftsman in a neighborhood known as China Hill.  The neighborhood is quiet, although it is a five-minute walk to a busy shopping district. There are families who have been here for 60 years and more, as well as new families with young children.  After dinner, you will find neighbors go out for walks and are quite friendly and welcoming with each other.  The neighborhood is upper middle class and a delightful example of America's ethnic diversity.

Your room is actually a "studio in-law" apartment within a teacher's home.  Although it has a private entrance, a private bathroom, and a private kitchen, you will also be given keys to our home and we welcome you to come upstairs to join our family as much or as little as you want.  Breakfast and dinner meals will be served upstairs with our family.  This room has a cable TV, wireless Ethernet hook up for your laptop computer, and a private phone line that can receive incoming phone calls from your family, friends, and business associates. 

This kitchen is fully functional and you are welcome to use it, but we expect you to join the family upstairs for breakfasts and dinners.
